Cancer Connection is an independent non-profit organization that depends on the voluntary contributions of individuals and businesses in our community. We receive no funding from the federal government or any of the nine Relay for Life events held in Western Massachusetts each spring by the American Cancer Society. The hunt for funds is never-ending... [Articles originally published in the Hampshire Gazette on Friday, December 08, 2006] We are committed to offering programs, support groups, workshops and complementary therapies free-of-charge to people with cancer and their family members and caregivers. We raise our entire operating budget every year through donations. Some 125 people participate in our activities each week; in addition, people newly diagnosed with cancer call and drop in daily for advice, comfort and support. A much-appreciated way to honor or to help family members or friends with cancer is to make a donation in their name. Your support of Cancer Connection will allow us to continue to offer life-affirming and supportive programs and services free-of-charge to those most in need. In 2008, Cancer Connection established an endowment funded with a very generous donation by an anonymous donor to "thank Cancer Connection for the compassion and dedication which Cancer Connection gives to the community" and to help the center continue long into the future. For more information about the endowment or to add your contribution to the endowment, please call the office at (413) 586-1642. Contributions to Cancer Connection are tax-deductible and keep your gifts in the local community where they offer the greatest benefit to your loved ones. Help us raise funds that stay local to help you and your friends and neighbors with cancer. Please mail your donation to: Cancer Connection, Inc. P. O.
