A Cheerleader for Growth

Chelsea S. Kline, Executive Director
Chelsea Kline

Leadership for a new phase.

Chelsea is a Writer, social justice organizer, and graduate of both Smith College and Harvard Divinity School, Chelsea’s career is fueled by profound appreciation for protecting human dignity, autonomy, and personal values throughout the lifespan, and across class, race, gender.

Chelsea has a long and dynamic professional history, and mission-focused work has almost always been at the center of her life, sometimes paid and often unpaid. She was an academic program director for a local university, an interim executive director of a small non-profit, and most recently worked as a consultant and professional life, career, and transition coach. Chelsea is the proud mama to 3 awesome humans and two exceptionally handsome dogs named Charlie and Bernie.

Chelsea comes to this role as a resident of Northampton for over 20 years, and the daughter of a cancer survivor. Her mother greatly benefitted from Cancer Connection services when she went through her own healing and recovery time around 2002. Cancer Connection has subsequently held a very special place in her heart because of how much her mother benefitted from the participant services. Since that time, she’s had the privilege to care for quite a few close connections as they grappled with their diagnoses and treatments. She’s celebrated healing and recoveries and said too many painful goodbyes as well.

A member of the Omega Women’s Leadership Intensive cohort of 2013, Chelsea served on the board of directors for the Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts, and currently serves as an alumni admissions ambassador for Harvard University, and as a fundraising ambassador for Collective Power for Reproductive Justice. Chelsea was previously appointed by the State of Massachusetts as a Commissioner on the Status of Women and Girls to work to address policy to provide access, opportunity, and equality for women.

Chelsea sees her role as the Executive Director as equal parts solution finder, networker, mission cheerleader, and staff supporter. She is thrilled to support Cancer Connection thrive and grow to make a positive difference for even more people living with Cancer and their caregivers.

In her rare moments of down time, she seeks out stellar acoustic spaces to hone her supernatural whistling skills.
