May 23, 2016, Sally O'Shea was honored by the Cancer Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

“The One Hundred,” is an annual event recognizing the work of 100 individuals from around the world who change the way we view cancer. Sally's handmade stars have provided comfort to Cancer Connection participants for many years. From the Gazette article, "In the last four years O’Shea has used her sewing skills and life-long passion for fabric to produce and distribute more than 7,000 small star-shaped sacks of colorful fabric with a wide variety of designs filled with millet. They are multi-purpose. You can hold, juggle or play catch with them. You can also use them to meditate, soothe anxiety, project fantasies and sequester sorrow."


May 6, 2016, MassLive previewed the 2016 Western Mass. Mother's Day Half Marathon in Whately to benefit Cancer Connection. The race was held on May 8th of that year.


March 8, 2016, The Daily Hampshire Gazette came to the courthouse to talk with Monte during the 10th Annual campout Northampton fundraiser featuring Monte Belmonte seeks $100,000. Radio personality Monte Belmonte is camping out on the Old Courthouse lawn to raise money for the Cancer Connection.


January 2016, PreView Massachusetts Magazine selected four torsos to include in a full page preview of the upcoming 1 in 8 Torso Exhibit. The torsos and many more were on exhibit in the Hosmer Gallery at the Forbes Library through the month of January 2016.

"If there was one thing that could get you running as a child, it was probably the sound of your mother’s voice, whether it was running toward her to eat the bowl of macaroni and cheese she’d prepared for lunch or to comfort a scraped knee. May 25, 2014, Tranquility Day Spa & Salon in Florence offers free services for clients with cancer. Our friends at the Tranquility Day Spa in Florence wanted to do more for people with cancer. They are now offering free services for clients with cancer. They can make a 30-minute appointment for the first Monday of every month, starting June 2, for a service ranging from facial treatments, to manicures to wig styling.

November 26, 2013 Crafts for a Cure Maryellen Cranston began Crafts for Cure, along with artist/ornament designer Jennie Markens, last Christmas. Cranston had just passed the three-year anniversary since her own cancer diagnosis and wanted to celebrate her good outcome by giving back to others.
